London Part II: "Reunited and it Feels So Good"

One of the best parts about this trip was that I got to see my friend Rachel and stay with her for the weekend. We have been friends since high school, so I was very happy that I got to see a familiar face while abroad. On our first night out we went to this very trendy bar called The Alchemist and they make the best specialty cocktails. The environment is warm and everyone is friendly. The whole experience is about watching the bartenders prepare these drinks that change colors, taste, or just have an amazing presentation.

The following day Rachel and I started our day at the Duck & Waffle for brunch. This restaurant is on the 40th floor which provides you a view of the entire city.

From there we headed to Primrose Hill and of course it started raining. To be fair the weather in London is MUCH better than in Dublin. It is not as windy which makes it feel a lot warmer--it was actually the first weekend where I was not freezing. My friend Rachel on the other hand was freezing and actually whipped out an umbrella--do not do this in Dublin. I have NEVER used an umbrella in Ireland, because you end up fighting with it and looking ridiculous. In London, I did use an umbrella...and I still looked ridiculous.

We went for a stroll through Regent's Park which is right near Camden Market.

I am quite the foodie so I was quite excited about going to the London markets. My cousin Kayla had studied abroad in London, and she highly recommened Camden which was convenient since Rachel's flat is located in Camden!

I actually did not eat any food at Camden Market, but I did do some shopping. I bought a new hat (pictured above) and a new sweater jacket. From there we headed to Greenwich Market and this is where the pictures off food commences. When going to the market I recommend splitting everything with at least one other person, so that you can try more things.

Out of all the things I tried, the ramen noodle burger was my absolute favorite and I am considering having Rachel mail me one (note sarcasm). So what it is a regular burger, but instead of a regular bun it is a ramen noodle bun.

What is even more embarrassing is that these are the first pictures I showed my roommate Steven when I got back (it is okay to judge me right now).

Okay, enough about the burger. I really enjoyed Greenwich Market due to its more specialty food items. Think of Greenwich as a more upscale market and Camden as a more of a hipster scene.

I got the chance to go see Buckingham and Kensington Palace. Unfortunately, the Queen was not home because otherwise I am confident that I would have been invited in.

Until tomorrow's adventure,
Hannah
